Costa Rica - Day 7 - Living fence posts along the side of the road near Sarmiento, in between Monteverde and San Jose. Farmers plant cuttings -- essentially, branches from other trees -- and string barbed wire between them, and then trim them every year or so to avoid damaging the wire.
